Fitchburg Street crossing north of Boston Scientific site. The sign at the upper right is incorrect, or outdated. The rail trail does not end here but instead crosses the very wide Fitchburg Street awkwardly just to the right of the intersection with Sasseville Way (near side) and Crowley Drive (far side), in the space where vehicles turn right. It would be safer for most bicyclists, and faster, to use the roads that parallel the path; pedestrians, child and novice bicyclists would use the path but ought to have a median refuge and signalized crosswalks. Note also the bollards in the middle of the path's lanes, at both sides of this intersection.
